Selected Clients:

My interest in makeup began at a young age…
I was about 11 when I began reading fashion magazines and experimenting with my mother’s makeup, trying to recreate the looks I had seen in Vogue and Elle.
I was always the girl in high school with too much makeup on!
I loved trying out lots of different products and one day a friend asked me why I didn’t just become a makeup artist. It had never occurred to me that I could put my talents to work and really love what I do for a living. I guess I never knew it could be a “real job.”

I left art school and went to New York City to work on creating a portfolio. I met photographers and learned about the industry by assisting other makeup and hair stylists. I started to build my own list of clients and found myself booked on jobs for some of the publications I grew up reading (YM, Mademoiselle). At the same time I was also building a reputation as an artist, not only for doing beautiful makeup and hair, but for being reliable and professional.

10 years later, my work takes me from powdering an actor for a TV commercial, to grooming a company’s CEO for a portrait, to putting the finishing touches on a beautiful bride. The most satisfying part of my job comes when someone tells me that they have never looked so good. This feeling is part of what led me to get involved in the American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better program. As a volunteer, I help guide cancer patients through makeup application and wig styling. To see these women’s courageous smiles and to hear them say that they can face the world a little easier lets me know that I have chosen the right career.

I can honestly say that making people look and feel beautiful is the best job I could have ever chosen!
